If you don’t already know, Pownce will be shutting down December 15. It’s been a privilege in providing rePownce to the community and hoped it was an useful tool. This project has been a great learning experience and I want to thank everyone for their support. Goodbye Pownce and good luck to the Pownce team!
rePownce is now compatible with the new Facebook. Due to the recent Facebook changes, all users will need to verify their settings on rePownce. Please grant offline access for publishing options and resend your settings. rePownce should operate normally afterwards.
Profilebox can appear either on the main profile or in tabs. First time users will need click the “Add to Profile” button.
The format of the feed has been changed. The title will be *user* has posted a *type* on *Pownce*. The body of the feed has been extended and respects line spacing.
rePownce is in transition to the recent Facebook changes. Users during the previous Facebook may notice notes with embedded images not publishing to their feeds. If details of notes in the mini feed may be hidden, go to the Application settings for rePownce and under the Wall tab, select the “One line, short, full” size.
Those adding rePownce with the new Facebook may notice issues with the different publishing methods. As a temporary solution, try adding rePownce under the old Facebook then switch back.
I hope you can bear with me while I work to adjust rePownce to the new changes.
There have been issues trying to access the Pownce API, preventing rePownce from functioning properly. As soon as the issues with the API are resolved, rePownce should be back up.
Update 6/9: rePownce should be working again. I’m working on a fix to restore embedded media.
A few tweaks and fixes have been pushed out today.
The profilebox should be updating again. If it hasn’t, please try the preview/update link on settings page. Let me know if problem persist.
Update: I have modified the preview profilebox to find matching notes from your public sent feed.
Profilebox updating is on hold for the time being. Something recently changed on Pownce which effected the way rePownce retrieved notes for your profilebox. As a temporary solution, you can manually update your profilebox on the settings page. Although this will grab all your sent notes including replies.
I have addressed this issue on the next update that I hope to make ready over the weekend. Feed publishing and status syncing should still be working. Please bear with me for just a little bit longer.
rePownce makes it as a Featured App on Pownce. Sweet!
I appreciate all those who are using rePownce. I have been preoccupied lately, and apologize for not delivering improvements as soon as I like. Over the weekend, I’ll be working to improve stability and to implement more features. I welcome any suggestions of what features you’d like to see on rePownce.
rePownce is experiencing issues communicating with Pownce. Service will be restored as soon as these issues are resolved.
4/4/2008: Seems like the problem fixed itself. rePownce should be working properly now.
Some long awaited features have been finally released.
You can now post notes to Pownce and access all your notes from the homepage. To unlock these feature, please authenticate with Pownce from the settings page.
The rePownce Bot is now live. rePownce B. will process notes for status syncing and feed publishing. If you are a new user and haven’t received a request from rePownce B. within 24 hours, please contact me with your username for quicker processing.
Finally, you can sync your status with all, public, nonpublic, or private notes. To sync nonpublic or private notes, make sure rePownce B. is set as a friend.
